Springbok is the largest town in the Namaqualand region of the Northern Cape, situated in a narrow valley between the Klein Koperberge (small copper mountains).
It lies on the N7 national route that links the Cape to Namibia, making it an important stopover for travellers heading North. It’s also the administrative and commercial centre of the Nama Khoi Local Municipality.
The area is characterised by mining activities, and a number of smaller towns fall within the sphere of influence of Springbok. The town also fulfils a strong regional role in terms of government and provincial administrative offices. Springbok is the commercial, cultural and educational hub for this part of the Northern Cape.
The centre of the town has limited amount of parking available and considering that a large percentage of buying power comprises clients from the communities out of town, namely Bergsig and Okiep, the position of the proposed Mall will be near these communities and provide ample parking.
