Joy Millar from Swindon Property, tasked with the sole leasing mandate for Speakers’ Corner, has placed award-winning creative agency The Jupiter Drawing Room in the newly renovated heritage Speakers’ Corner on Parliament Street. The space is a five-story heritage building in the up and coming Church Square, in Cape Town CBD and is suited to vibrant, creative businesses.
"When we found Speakers’ Corner, there was an instant attraction to the space," said Lucas van Vuuren, Executive Creative Director at The Jupiter Drawing Room. "We liked the mix of Victorian walls and new industrial design, making it slick enough to bring any client to. We fell in love with the views and the history of the area, all of which reflects the culture of our agency."
The heritage building has been meticulously renovated over the last four years by Urban Lime Property, specialists in commercial urban regeneration and features high ceilings, a beautiful mezzanine level with library and breakaway spaces, and shared boardrooms. Tenants also enjoy a concierge service, an upmarket third floor rooftop bar, as well as events and launches in the event and gallery space on the ground floor.
“Speakers’ Corner is an ideal fit for us” said van Vuuren. "The Jupiter Drawing Room is not your run-of-the-mill corporate ad agency. We pride ourselves on our personality, charm, and heritage; we are rustic around the edges, yet still have an air of sophistication."
Van Vuuren and his team are enchanted by the building, which he described as having "spirit and heritage without being exclusive”.
"The move has given us a renewed connection to the Cape Town CBD that we didn't expect."
