Following the chaos that swept through KZN in July, affected companies have been scrambling to salvage whatever they are able to and get back to business. BAMT Projects Pty (Ltd) is one such company, illustrating the true spirit of South Africa, stepping up in the face of adversity and coming back strong.

BAMT Projects Pty (Ltd) previously based in Boulevard Business Park in Cornubia was 100% looted, with their premises and vehicles burnt to the ground. Every moment of the devastation; looters flooding their premises, stealing their tools and materials, before setting the factory alight caught on security camera footage. With their core business being the fit-out of shop fronts, BAMT had recently received supplies, including shelving lighting and counters for a large project scheduled to be completed in 4 weeks' time, all of this as well as already completed units being lost in the fire.

Kelly Anne Flint, Swindon's broker for the Cornubia and Mount Edgecombe area, was able to find BAMT a new (581sqm) premises in Glen Murray Industrial Park in Glen Anil, negotiated and signed a 3-year lease with Growthpoint Properties. The contract was secured and BAMT was able to move into their new premises within two weeks, thanks to Swindon KZN Director, Mike van Schoor, and property fund, Growthpoint Properties, fast-tracking the transaction. BAMT staff wasted no time restocking and rebuilding and against all odds met their pre-riot fit-out deadline. In their new space, BAMT has also taken on and successfully completed 4 new store fit-outs

A true testament to the character of the company and its staff, as well as the faith their clients place in them.

Swindon has made every effort to assist tenacious businesses find premises and resume activities as soon as possible. We are proud to say we were able to contribute in some small way to the rebuilding of business after the devastation.
